Vanja is interested in exploring the design process and experimental ways of making. Questioning preconceived notions of how and to what end objects and furniture is created and used. In this attempt she is interested in using interdisciplinary methods, experimental materials and a playful approach to making in order to impose change on the way we view the world of artefact’s that surround us.
After finishing the Faculty of Architecture in Ljubljana, Slovenia in 2008 and working for a year and a half as an architect, Vanja decided to explore and experiment on a smaller scale, working hands on and designing objects that attracted her since forever. This lead her to do a MA in Furniture design at The Cass, London in 2009/2010, where she is currently a Designer in Residence.
